ACCESS: A Netflix X Otis Entertainment Certificate Program

Otis College has teamed up with Netflix and several outstanding entertainment industry partners to provide a select group of upcoming and recent high school graduates and young professionals of color, interested in a career in entertainment, with a full-scholarship to a 14-month certificate program coupled with a 6-month paid apprenticeship!

Access: A Netflix x Otis Entertainment Certificate is geared towards young creatives 18 years or older, who are underrepresented students of color, that are seeking to fast-track their careers in the fields of editing, design, and illustration for entertainment. Beginning in Fall 2023, this new certificate program provides pathways to careers in developing the assets used in entertainment marketing campaigns.

Faculty Development in South Korea by the Center for International Business and Research (CIBER)

An excellent faculty development opportunity for educators interested in developing a greater understanding of doing business in Korea and exploring how Korean companies such as Samsung, Hyundai, and LG have emerged as global competitors, advanced in sustainability, and strategically evolved post-pandemic. Participants will gain firsthand experience about how South Korea has grown into a trillion-dollar-club economy that ranks the 10th largest in the world. In addition, participants will tour and visit historical sites for cultural experiences. CMCC Consortium for Minority Serving Institutions and Community Colleges provides funding opportunities for community college faculty to cover registration and transportation valued at $4,000.

Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship Program

The Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship Program supports community college degree and industry certificate completion through scholarships (up to $500) and subsidies for cybersecurity certification exam costs (up to $375). Financial assistance is intended to cover short-term basic needs, such as food, rent, health-related, transportation/car issues, and/or a laptop/device. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

UNITED SUMMER ASSOCIATES PROGRAM

The United Summer Associates Program (USA) is seeking students who have the
determination to reach for the stars to pursue a college education and gain real-world
experience as we transform United into the World’s Best Airline. The USA program, like the
colleges students attend and the communities they hail from, supports and offers participants
a new horizon and the insight to pursue the fantastic opportunities that await them.

The program will be approximately 10 weeks long, starting at the end of May. The position
is not remote and will require participants to physically report to the airport for their shift.

Snap Academies 2023

The Snap Academies are summer educational training programs for community college students (or recent transfers) hosted by Snap Inc., the makers of Snapchat. This summer, UNITE-LA is partnering with Snap Inc. to recruit students to participate in each of the four hands-on, nine-week academies, where Scholars will further develop their Design, Engineering, Marketing, Communications or Augmented Reality skills. Scholars will participate in custom, creative and technical workshops, fireside chats and mentorship with Snap Inc. team members. Teens (ages 14 to 19 years old) can apply for Kollab Youth’s Spring 2023 Workforce Development Program beginning April 17, 2023. The deadline to sign up is Monday, April 10, 2023Teens can sign up at kollabyouth.org/youth-registration.  Kollab program helps teens explore career opportunities in business, STEM, and other emerging 21st-century careers that are high-growth and high-wage jobs.
