Join Our Team as a Mariachi Instructor!
Position: Part-Time 4 times a week 60+ minute instruction; Tuesday–Thursday(3:45-5:30pm)& Friday 12:45-2:30pm availability.

About Us: Expanded Learning Academy’s Mariachi program brings the rich tradition of mariachi music to youth in our community. We are dedicated to cultural preservation, youth development, and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate Mariachi Instructor to lead afterschool music programs, teaching students to perform traditional mariachi music with instruments including guitar, vihuela, guitarrón, and voice. This role is perfect for a talented musician and educator who loves sharing their skills, mentoring students, and engaging with the community.

What You’ll Do:

Teach mariachi music to students of all skill levels.
Plan lessons incorporating music theory, performance techniques, and cultural history.
Conduct rehearsals and prepare students for school concert.
Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Maintain instruments, costumes, and program materials.
Communicate with families and track student progress.
Assist with performance logistics, including setup, costumes, and public presentations.
What We’re Looking For:

Skilled in mariachi performance and instruction (instrumental and/or vocal).
Experience teaching youth in schools or community programs preferred.
Knowledge of traditional and contemporary mariachi repertoire.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, not required.
Passionate about music education, cultural heritage, and mentorship.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel for performances as needed.
