Residents in Los Angeles County struggle to find high-wage, in-demand careers, and companies struggle to find qualified, middle-skilled employees. Within this struggle lies our objective — to bridge the gap between workforce preparedness and the employers fueling LA’s cutting-edge economy.

Delivering on a Promise

LARC is a consortium of LA’s 19 community colleges working collectively to deliver on a promise that California community colleges are accessible and affordable to all who seek opportunities to realize a better future. We collaborate with K-12 partners, high-road employers, and priority industries to align impactful curriculum and workforce training programs, creating a seamless pathway for college and career readiness.

Champions of students, up-skillers, re-skillers, and employers.

We’re advocates of regional change, focused on opening doors for adult, disenfranchised, and incumbent workers, facilitating upskilling for the region’s existing labor force, expanding employment opportunities for students, and offering more highly trained candidates for employers.

Hundreds of thousands of businesses make their home in LA County, participating in its many major and minor industries. LARC applies quantitative and qualitative data and research to identify high-growth, emerging, and economically critical industries, analyze the gap between labor market demands, and respond to workforce needs.
