This project advances the Los Angeles region’s capacity to prepare students, educators, and employers for the evolving future of work by integrating Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) literacy and innovation across education and workforce systems. Through a comprehensive professional development and implementation framework, the initiative supports all 19 Los Angeles community colleges in equipping students and faculty with the knowledge, skills, and tools to responsibly and effectively use A.I. By fostering A.I. fluency, the project aligns with LARC’s Regional Plan, California Community Colleges’ Vision 2030, California’s Master Plan for Career Education, and the statewide “Jobs First” initiative, ensuring equitable access to emerging technologies that are transforming every industry sector. The project will empower faculty to integrate A.I. into instruction, promote ethical A.I. use, and strengthen student employability in high-demand fields. Outcomes include the creation of replicable A.I. training models, sector-aligned curriculum resources, and a sustainable professional learning network that positions Los Angeles as a statewide leader in A.I. literacy and innovation.
