Pathways Improvement Scope
TCROP’s strong partnership with Rio Hondo College (RHC) has resulted in 29 new articulation agreements in the last 4 years. Last year, there were 31 articulated courses between TCROP and RHC. Between the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years, RHC and TCROP saw awards of articulation credit increase from 885 to 1,018. TCROP also works with RHC to establish a College and Career Pathways (CCAP) agreement.
TCROP and RHC are aligned in their goal of strengthening their AI presence. All TCROP pathways served by this project link to RHC pathways, and each partner provides support to students as they transition from high school to college. As discussed in the attached letter of commitment, TCROP and RHC are mutually committed to adopting AI as an efficiency and equity tool and including AI instruction across all CTE pathways. The partners agree to share professional development opportunities, share policies and procedures developed for AI, co-create lessons and strategies, and collaborate on early college credit opportunities.
Goals & Priorities
TCROP will acquire advanced hardware, subscribe to AI tools, and provide professional development on AI and equity for 100% of its teachers and staff, in collaboration with Rio Hondo College (RHC). Teachers will integrate AI teaching strategies into at least one module per pathway, with students and educators gaining access to industry-specific tools. Equity principles, such as the AI Bill of Rights, will guide implementation, supported by targeted data collection to measure benefits for disproportionately impacted students. Expanded early college credit opportunities, facilitated by new articulation and CCAP agreements, aim to increase credit availability by 10%. Industry partners and AI experts will ensure curriculum relevance through advisory meetings, professional development, and classroom guest sessions. The Student Success Team (SST) will provide resources like tutoring, mentoring, and campus tours to support pathway completion and postsecondary transitions. Data specialists will analyze AI integration’s impact on outcomes such as enrollment, course completion, and credit attainment, helping ensure equitable benefits and workforce readiness for all students.
