Pathways Improvement Scope

Our curriculum and instruction strategies are designed to strengthen the CTE pathway by finalizing course sequencing and development of engaging Pathway maps, which clearly identify the CTE Pathway & intersegmental partnerships between the schools and LATTC though completion of CTE Certificate, Associateʼs degree or transfer. We will improve the pathway through multiple professional development opportunities for teachers and to provide opportunities for students to build foundational skills and media arts competencies at various points along the pathway continuum.

Goals & Priorities

Through SWP/Career Pathways Connections participation, students will explore different Design and Media Arts and related career options, gain a realistic picture of the academic rigor these options entail, and develop a clear understanding of the path they will need to take to reach college and career goals, placing them on a trajectory for success in their future chosen fields. SWP funding will allow us to create a continuum of work-based learning experiences that begin with career exploration and foundational skills development in th grade and culminate with paid internships for juniors and seniors. The activities targeted to each grade level will build upon each other so that students are enhancing their career readiness each year and will be thoroughly prepared to secure and successfully complete internships in arts, media and entertainment and related fields.
