The Apprenticeship Innovation Funding (AIF) is a new funding source in the state of California as of 2022 for new and innovative apprenticeship programs. The State has allocated $175 million over 3 years to support ongoing costs of these programs and classroom training, with $55 Million specifically allocated to FY 2022-2023. The intent of the funding is to support both new and existing IACA Apprenticeship programs to grow and scale to meet the needs of more employers and create more earn and learn pathways for job seekers.
SAVE THE DATE: A seminar will be held on March 23rd from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM PST. CA DAS expects to have the portal and instructions for accessing the RIF program open by late March. A Zoom invite from CA DAS will be forwarded in the near future.
During the seminar CA DAS will cover the following topics:
- An overview of the AIF opportunity, the process for registration, and a summary of funding sources in CA;
- The process for Intermediaries with active apprentices during CY 2022 to submit for reimbursement under AIF;
- The process for new intermediaries registering 1/1/23 or after, to become eligible to submit for reimbursement under AIF in March 2024;
- An update from on the process to register nationally registered intermediaries into the CA Apprenticeship System.
