Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) understands that both faculty and students need to be inspired and supported as it relates career development opportunities that lead to quality work-based learning, internships, and jobs. First, LAEDC will leverage its work through our business assistance program, industry cluster development initiatives, events, and World Trade Center Los Angeles to continue to outreach and target employer partners to invest in work-based learning, internships, and employment opportunities for community colleges students. The team will engage employers on the quality of talent emerging from our community colleges and show how the training meets their workforce demands. Second, we will seek to strengthen faculty partnerships with employers by hosting regional program advisories where the skills, competencies and talent needs of local employers are shared and the programs, curriculum and pathways developed by the community colleges are highlighted.
