According to data from the California Employment Development Department and the Center of Excellence (COE), the following health care occupations are in the top five growing occupations through 2026: Home Health Aides (projected: 10,460 growth: 41.6%) Personal Care Aides (projected: 289, 600 growth: 39.9%) and other personal care and service workers (projected: 351,460 growth: 33.3%). Many other occupations in health are expected to grow tremendously through 2026, including Medical Health and Health Services Manager (growth: 27.7%), Medical Assistant (27.10%), EMT and paramedic (25.10%), substance abuse counselors and behavioral technicians (23%), Certified Nurse Assistant (15.4%), and Pharmacy Technician (15%). With the need for allied health workers growing, it is crucial that a talent pipeline exists for these occupations.
