In Los Angeles County, Healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries. According to data from the California Employment Development Department and the Center of Excellence (COE), the following health care occupations are in the top five growing occupations through 2026: Home Health Aides (projected: 10,460 growth: 41.6%) Personal Care Aides (projected: 289, 600 growth: 39.9%) and other personal care and service workers (projected: 351,460 growth: 33.3%). Many other occupations in health are expected to grow tremendously through 2026, including Medical Health and Health Services Manager (growth: 27.7%), Medical Assistant (27.10%), EMT and paramedic (25.10%), substance abuse counselors and behavioral technicians (23%), Certified Nurse Assistant (15.4%), and Pharmacy Technician (15%). With the need for allied health workers growing, it is crucial that a talent pipeline exists for these occupations.
