Pathways Improvement Scope

Compton USD will expand and strengthen its Creative Economy pathways through the Real to Reel initiative, connecting digital media, entertainment technology, business and entrepreneurship, emerging technology, and related CTE programs to college and career opportunities. The project will modernize curriculum and instruction through AI, digital marketing, content production, drone technology, and industry-recognized certifications while strengthening articulation and dual enrollment with Compton College. Students will gain increased access to work-based learning, professional mentorship, internships, pre-apprenticeships, and apprenticeships, as well as opportunities to develop industry-reviewed portfolios and credentials. Investments in technology, teacher professional development, student supports, and employer partnerships will strengthen equitable access to high-skill Creative Economy careers and create more coherent transitions from CUSD pathways to postsecondary education and employment.
