Pathways Improvement Scope
LBUSD will strengthen CTE pathways by developing an equity-centered pre-apprenticeship model aligned with LARC’s eight priority sectors, regional workforce needs, and postsecondary opportunities. The project will expand work-based learning, integrate pre-apprenticeship experiences into CTE coursework, strengthen dual enrollment and apprenticeship connections, and build partnerships with LBCC, industry, workforce, and intermediary partners to create clear pathways from high school to college and high-wage, high-demand careers.
Goals & Priorities
LBUSD’s goals are to expand equitable access to work-based learning and pre-apprenticeship opportunities while increasing CTE pathway completion and college and career readiness. Priorities include establishing at least four new pre-apprenticeship programs, increasing participation among underserved students, expanding access to internships, mentorship, early college credit, and industry-recognized certifications, and strengthening transitions into registered apprenticeships, postsecondary education, and employment.
