Pathways Improvement Scope

The LAUSD CTE-Linked Learning Dual Enrollment Expansion Project will expand equitable access to dual enrollment opportunities by strengthening alignment between LAUSD Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways and Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) programs. The project establishes a centralized Dual Enrollment Director and Regional Pathway Navigators to coordinate enrollment, pathway alignment, student supports, and college partnerships across the district. It will develop and expand dual enrollment courses in high-demand sectors including health care, biotechnology, education, behavioral health, green energy, engineering, public safety, and information technology, while creating clear connections to certificates, degrees, and transfer pathways.

Goals & Priorities

The project’s primary goals are to increase dual enrollment participation, close equity gaps for historically underserved student populations, strengthen K-14 pathway alignment, and improve transitions from high school to college and careers. Key priorities include expanding access to pathway-aligned dual enrollment courses, increasing college credit attainment, improving postsecondary enrollment and persistence, providing career exploration and work-based learning experiences, and ensuring students are prepared for high-wage, high-demand careers in priority industry sectors identified by regional labor market needs. The initiative aims to serve approximately 6,000 students while creating a sustainable infrastructure for districtwide dual enrollment expansion and long-term student success.
