Pathways Improvement Scope

The Building the Future: Pathways in Robotics and Cybersecurity project expands Culver City Unified’s existing Robotics pathway and launches a new Cybersecurity pathway, creating a K-14 pipeline from middle school through dual enrollment with West Los Angeles College. The project will enhance curriculum, modernize labs with industry-standard equipment, increase early college credit opportunities, and provide mentorship, work-based learning, and industry experiences through partners such as JPL and FIRST Robotics.

Goals & Priorities

The project aims to increase enrollment, completion, and postsecondary transition in Robotics and Cybersecurity pathways, particularly for underrepresented student groups including English Learners, low-income students, students with disabilities, and students of color. Key priorities include strengthening K-14 alignment with West Los Angeles College, expanding dual enrollment and industry certifications, increasing work-based learning opportunities, modernizing STEM instructional environments, and preparing students for high-wage, high-demand careers in engineering, robotics, automation, and cybersecurity.
