Pathways Improvement Scope

This project improves upon prior pathways by increasing dual enrollment participation by 20% and adding three new pathways in partnership with Cerritos College. Building on previous investments, the project integrates AI-focused modules into five courses and modernizes classrooms to meet industry standards. It also strengthens industry collaborations with 10 new local business partnerships, expanding opportunities for internships and hands-on learning. Targeted support services like tutoring and mentoring further close equity gaps for underserved student populations.

Goals & Priorities

The Expanding Pathways project will provide equitable access to Dual Enrollment courses and career opportunities, preparing students for high-demand industries such as Mental and Behavioral Health, Early Childhood Education, Fire Science, and Alternative Fuels. The initiative will increase CTE pathway completion rates by 10% and boost Dual Enrollment participation by 20%, introducing three new pathways in partnership with Cerritos College. Focusing on innovation, the project integrates AI literacy into five courses, modernizes classrooms to meet industry standards, and collaborates with 10 local businesses to provide work-based learning experiences. By providing targeted supports like tutoring, mentoring, and transportation, this project empowers underserved students to achieve industry certifications and college credits, ensuring they are ready for career and post-secondary success.
