Pathways Improvement Scope

The initial LA-22 funding covered most digital equipment needs and supported staff in designing and implementing digital media coursework and pathway parameters. It also enhanced pathways in Popular Music and Production and Design conservatories by establishing courses and acquiring essential equipment. The latest request aims to expand the Design, Visual, and Media Arts pathway with five new courses and additional equipment, while also developing two new classes for the Film, Television, and Media Technologies program within the Production and Managerial Arts pathway.

Goals & Priorities

CSArts-SGV’s K12 Strong Workforce Program (SWP) project expands CTE pathways with new curriculum, courses, and industry-experienced staff, preparing students for high-skill, high-wage careers in Film, Television, Digital Media, and related fields. By 2025, at least 60 students will enroll in the Film, Television, and Media Technologies program, with additional growth projected annually, while Digital Media courses will provide specialized training in 3D modeling, environmental design, and more. Equity and inclusion efforts, such as the Professional Mentorship Program and targeted academic support, ensure disproportionately impacted students have access to resources and opportunities for success. Aligned with the LARC Regional Plan, this initiative equips a diverse student body with cutting-edge skills to thrive in competitive, high-demand industries.
