Pathways Improvement Scope

SIATech Academy South will start a new business management pathway with students earning a certificate in Microsoft Office Specialist. Students in this pathway will develop career readiness through LAUNCH training, apprenticeships and other work based learning (WBL) opportunities. Students will attend an Empowering YOUth Summit and implement leadership activities from CTSO organizations. Spanish speaking (English Language Learners) students will hear about cultural business topics from the Hispanic community. Two Student Support Specialists (one located at Boyle Heights site and the other at our Pico-Union site) will be hired to assist students in registering for and participating in different WBL programs.

Goals & Priorities

SIATech will expand CTE course offerings to include a business management pathway and increase pathway completion by 20% for all students and by 25% for ELL and homeless students by 2027. 25% of pathway completers will take the Microsoft Office Specialists certification. Student Support Specialists with receive professional development and an Empowering Youth Summit (with a focus on WBL) will be attended by students in the region.
