Pathways Improvement Scope

New Designs Charter School (NDCS) will pursue industry partnerships that could provide internships in Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Technology and Gaming. The Medical/Health pathway curriculum and equipment will be updated. Direct, career based learning will be provided for the Engineering/Robotics pathway. Supplies, materials and texts will be purchased and regular training for teachers will be provided. Students will be able to earn certificates in Health Science, Engineering, Public Safety, Information and Communication Technology and Business & Finance. Partnerships with Brotherhood Crusade and LA Promise Fund will be established. A Career Counselor would be hired to coordinate with the existing counseling department to manage school program activities for K12 SWP.

Goals & Priorities

New Designs Charter will enhance the Patient Care/Health pathway and augment the AMD Career Pathway and Robotics Program. NDCS will improve on the dual enrollment/CCAP partnership with LACCD to incorporate new Career Pathways aligned towards transferable college credits and industry-recognized certifications. Work based learning participation will be increased to 20% or more of the eligible high school population. NDCS will expand K12-College partner relationships along with faculty collaboration, career counseling and marketing efforts.
