Pathways Improvement Scope

IUSD plans to expand work-based learning (WBL) opportunities in the AME and Health Care sectors and develop WBL opportunities in the Business sector, particularly in the Entrepreneurship and Sports Medicine programs. Collaborating with industry and college partners, IUSD will bring real-world experience directly to high school campuses. Investments in essential resources like medical imaging equipment and virtual reality (VR) workstations will benefit students during regular school hours, while also providing opportunities for after-school engagement in WBL and field training. IUSD will collaborate with El Camino College to create an industry-aligned entrepreneurship program. In collaboration with El Camino College, IUSD will develop and enhance the Entrepreneurship and Sports Medicine Pathway programs, ensuring alignment with the college curriculum for seamless college.

Goals & Priorities

The Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) will implement a comprehensive plan to provide equitable access to Career Technical Education (CTE) opportunities for all students. This plan will encompass various initiatives, including early outreach programs, personalized academic college/career plans, dual enrollment programs, mentorship and internship opportunities, and parent and community engagement. IUSD will also collaborate with El Camino Community College to coordinate College Connections Week and host an annual College & Career Fair, further strengthening the connection between high school and college pathways for CTE students. Through these efforts, IUSD is committed to transforming education and workforce development, empowering students to make informed decisions about their futures.
