Pathways Improvement Scope

Torrance is enhancing the work-based learning offerings in their existing pathways by providing more guest speakers, field trips and offering career readiness workshops.

Goals & Priorities

Torrance Unified School District’s (TUSD) “College and Career Readiness Plan” and “Career Connection Continuum: Supporting Students Middle Through High School” projects aim to help students explore their career options and prepare for their future. The plans focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, industry engagement, career education pathways, and work-based learning. TUSD will develop a framework that outlines specific Work Based Learning activities for their pathway courses. TUSD will partner with SBWIB and local industry to secure and plan engaging WBL opportunities for students, as well as designing career readiness workshops such as resume writing, dressing for success, using social media on the job hunt, and interviewing skills.
