Pathways Improvement Scope
The LEA is designing a three-course Technical Theater pathway, designed to expose students to the various careers and vocational skills for technical theater and the entertainment industry. The plan is Aligned with SWP LA County Regional Plan 2020-2024 Update, the Center For Excellence, and LA County Regional Market and Demand for Skilled Workers.
Goals & Priorities
Beginning August 2023, BHUSD will offer a 2 course Technical Theater sequence (Technical Theater, Introductory, and Technical Theater, Advanced), and add a capstone course by August 2024. The school will design and equip a state of the art theater technical craft shop, including equipment/layout conducive for our special education students, as well as a state of the art theater technical design lab, including computers and AutoCAD and other design software capabilities based on industry standards. The school will collaborate with middle school counselors and teachers to prepare rising 9th graders to complete a 3 course pathway sequence during high school.
