Pathways Improvement Scope

The K12SWP Round 5 grant for the new CTE Medical Sciences Academy will specifically support the LEA (Medical Sciences Advisor, Career Education Coordinator) in designing and implementing curriculum for a complete three course to align for Dual Enrollment, prepare state of the art lab simulations for introductory and concentrator students, accompany students to real world immersion experiences, collaborate with our SPED and EL departments regarding measures to consider that will support student completion of the pathway.

Goals & Priorities

Design a Biotechnology lab on campus, prepare labs for introductory & concentrator levels to address all of our learners, accompany students to off-site simulation experiences, incorporate industry certificates, work with community college partner regarding dual enrollment, consult with community college partner and Health Sciences professionals in the community & on our CTE Advisory Board to ensure that curriculum, new lab equipment and supplies reflect industry standards so our students will be educated and trained to matriculate to related college programs, jobs and careers; PLTW licenses for the introductory & concentrator levels; hospital simulations and equipment/supplies.
