Pathways Improvement Scope

The project will engage more students in SAS career pathways and give them the confidence and knowledge to successfully continue their pathway learning at a Community College after high school. CTE counselors will recruit students to CTE pathways, as well as provide career planning and guidance, academic advising and other counseling support They will be responsible for connecting students to mentors, college visits, work based learning and dual enrollment. They will also assist students with FAFSA completion and college applications. Paxton/Patterson Career Exploration labs will be purchased to expand the current program of career exploration available to students via CA Career Zone. Success in strengthening career exploration will be evidenced by an increased number of students enrolling in and completing CTE courses.

They will also assist students with FAFSA completion and college applications. Purchasing Paxton/Patterson Career Exploration Labs that support the SAS pathways. These labs will enhance existing career exploration by engaging students through collaborative learning and problem solving with real-world technology. Hiring a CTE counselor to provide pathway recruitment, career planning and guidance, academic advising and other counseling support to ensure student success and graduation. Hiring two Student Support Specialists to to develop pathway recruitment materials and activities, connect students to WBL and dual enrollment, and support the growth of external partnerships. Student Support Specialists will also coordinate regular onsite visits by ELAC counselors, connect students to the American Job Center of California (AJCC) at ELAC, and assist students with FAFSA forms and college applications.
