Pathways Improvement Scope

The overarching goal of this project is to advance the regional workforce efforts by equipping students and producing graduates
ready to enter the workforce and/or postsecondary programs aligned to the SWPLARP recommendations|We will continuously work towards improving and expanding the CTE offerings to include priority and emerging sector programs with rigorous curriculum and authentic hands-on learning|We would also like to provide learning spaces that reflect the industry workplace settings with industry standard equipment and state-of-the-art technology

Goals & Priorities

Our goal is to have high quality CTE programs aligned to postsecondary education programs. There are multiple opportunities for students to engage in college and career exploration. This project will support to systematize the existing opportunities and identify the activities that will be embedded in each pathway/grade level. Collaboration with postsecondary schools (like Cerritos College) is critical to maintaining a strong transition plan from high school to postsecondary schools. Work-based learning is a critical component to preparing students for life after high school. We have dedicated a full-time certificated staff position to facilitate and coordinate district-wide work-based learning activities throughout the year.
