Pathways Improvement Scope

This project seeks to increase the number of opportunities to provide students within the industries of digital arts, media and entertainment. Increasing access to high quality CTE programs, we propose that we use funding from the K-12 Strong Workforce program to collaborate with both Compton College and LBCC on a full development of K-14 pathways between our organizations.

Goals & Priorities

Lynwood USD will collaborate with college partners (LBCC and Compton College) on developing a comprehensive work plan to inform, guide and enroll students to courses aligned to interests in the following sectors: Media Arts, Biotechnology, and Welding and Machine tool technologies. This collaboration will focus on providing guidance for current programs in Graphic Design, Film/Video Production, Digital Photography, and Biomedical Sciences. Through this work, we believe that we have the opportunity to enhance our programs by increasing content related to programs at the community college level. Collaboration and coordination of dual enrollment programs will be a key part of this K-12 SWP project. Lynwood USD CTE coordinator will work extensively with the K-12 SWP Program coordinators, Compton College and Long Beach CC enrollment staff to develop a comprehensive work plan to offer dual enrollment coursework.
