Pathways Improvement Scope
The ESPRESSO Project will build on its partnership with El Camino College (ECC), which launched the DVD E/SE Pathway in 2020. This secondary-postsecondary partnership designed the E/SE Pathway to incorporate a sequence of DE courses that enable DVD students to earn an ECC Entrepreneurial Studies Certificate by high school graduation and an Entrepreneurial Studies A.S. within one year of completing high school. The overall goal of the ESPRESSO Project is to complement the E/SE Pathway’s post-secondary emphasis with innovative WBL experiences to better prepare underserved students (91.2% of DVD students) with the entrepreneurial skills that will enable them to excel as future business owners and independent professionals.
Goals & Priorities
The goal is to configure and equip a new DVD Café, which will be fully managed and operated as a for-profit business by E/SE students and incorporated as a central feature of the E/SE Pathway program of study.
