The 2025 BECAP Summit will feature inspiring keynotes, insightful panels and collaborative breakout sessions. This dynamic gathering will focus on advancing workforce development, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthening connections among participants from industry, government, NGOs and higher education-including the California Community Colleges, CSU’s, UC’s, and private institutions. This event offers a unique platform for collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange to address the pressing environmental challenges and opportunities ahead while shaping the future of the blue economy.
The BECAP regional project aims to address the growing employment needs in ocean-related and climate action-aligned labor markets, while fostering innovation and sustainable solutions. We look forward to your participation in the 2025 BECAP Summit!
In partnership with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Santa Monica College and Los Angeles Harbor College invite you to join as we explore the Four Pillars of the BECAP focus:
• Regenerative Aquaculture and Aquaponics
• Blue Technology and Robotics
• Clean Marine Renewable Energy
• Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration
This intersegmental summit will include colleagues from public colleges, private institutions and a unique public-private LA ocean institute, AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles– a core partner for the BECAP project, dedicated to accelerating scientific collaboration and advancing an emerging Blue Economy through business innovation, job creation and inspiring the next generation.
