Compton College is hosting WestEd’s “Adult Education: Using Data to Explore and Improve Equity and Impact in Adult Education” program on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 9 am to 2 pm.
Join WestEd for a day long, in person workshop to dive into tools and resources that will help you improve equity, outcomes, and impact in your adult education programs. Plus, you will get the chance to engage with your peers across the region to understand and share promising practices!
This training will feature tool demonstrations, hands on exploration, and facilitated discussion to support attendees in making data-informed programming decisions that increase learner access, engagement, and success. Special attention will be paid to addressing equity gaps as they relate to your consortium’s goals. Attendees will have the opportunity to generate and explore questions, including questions about who you serve compared to who you intend to serve and how to close those gaps. The team will also help you explore the contextual and complex nature of equity in your consortium, alongside your data, with the intent of inspiring new opportunities for services and collaborations. Lastly this workshop will offer tools and resources for leading data equity conversations with your consortium members and other stakeholders.
Activities, such as conducting an equity walk, engaging stakeholders and adult learners in data equity conversations, constructing data stories, and mapping the local landscape, will allow participants to contextualize their consortium’s data to support ongoing planning and evaluation efforts. Ultimately, this opportunity will bring together adult education practitioners to engage in reflective discussion, participate in applied learning opportunities, and share best practices to improve education and employment outcomes for adult learners.
