This project establishes a unified regional framework for Work-Based Learning (WBL) to ensure consistent practices and equitable outcomes across the LA-19 community colleges. By aligning with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, the initiative provides tools and data to streamline WBL functions, define common procedures, and institutionalize practices at each college. Key objectives include increasing student participation, refining data systems for equity analysis, and enhancing infrastructure through a dedicated WBL role at each college. The project prioritizes equity by offering experiential opportunities in priority sectors and reducing barriers with transportation and meal assistance. Additional efforts include developing a faculty toolkit for program-specific WBL resources and sustaining a Community of Practice to share strategies and refine processes. These collective actions aim to expand WBL access, foster inclusivity, and strengthen workforce outcomes across the Los Angeles region.
