Pathways Improvement Scope
The project seeks to recruit and employ part-time CTE teacher to develop and instruct Game Design pathway. Staff will work with Otis College of Art and Design to offer a Spring workshop to recruit students for the start of the Fall pathway. Career Counselor and CTE staff will intentionally recruit from underserved populations and English Learner students. We will work with SMC for the game design pathway and to create dual enrollment opportunities and articulated courses to lead directly to post-secondary studies. Will work with CCEF and Culver City’s CoC to identify and foster local industry partnerships, develop site visits and other WBL experiences that align with the pathway. Computer equipment and software will be purchased. The project also seeks to explore adding a ICT Games and Simulation pathway. Work with WLAC to create dual enrollment opportunities and work to articulate courses that will lead directly to post-secondary studies. Work with CCEF and Culver City’s CoC to identify and foster local industry partnerships to advise pathway development.
Goals & Priorities
We will hire a part-time CTE teacher who will work with WLAC and industry partners to create curriculum that will connect students to post-secondary paths and high-demand careers. We will equip the computer lab with industry level equipment by the beginning of 2022-23 school year,.
