Program Recommendation

Process

One of the integral functions of the Los Angeles Regional Consortium is to recommend credit Career Technical Education (CTE) programs being proposed by community colleges in the region. This role is described in Title 5, Section 55130(b)(8)E of the California Education Code.

Each of the 19 colleges within the LA Regional Consortium has one voting member and one alternate voting member, selected by the college President (or their designee). Each month, the voting members (and/or alternates) hold a Business Meeting to review and recommend new credit CTE programs. Each new program must be preceded by a program data request made to the region's Center of Excellence (COE).
